Cheoah River 2014 Release Dates
While most folks across the east coast and south are stuck inside with this arctic blast sweeping the country, if you're like me, your thoughts turn to warm weather and some outside activities - like rafting. We happen to be located next to two amazing rafting opportunities - the Nantahala and Cheoah Rivers.
The Cheoah is a class IV - V intense river that only is released a few times per year. I haven't been brave enough to try it out, but I hear that it is one of the best rivers this side of the Mississippi. On a warm summer afternoon, I love to watch the kayakers and rafters and see all the people around Graham County enjoying our great outdoor opportunities.
Here are the 2014 release dates for the Cheoah River:
February 22 & 23 (Saturday & Sunday)
March 15, 16, & 17 (Saturday, Sunday & Monday)
April 5 & 6 (Saturday & Sunday)
April 12 & 13 (Saturday & Sunday)
April 26 & 27 (Saturday & Sunday)
May 3 & 4 (Saturday & Sunday)
May 17 & 18 (Saturday & Sunday)
May 24 & May 25 (Saturday & Sunday)
June 28 & 29 (Saturday & Sunday)
November 1 (Saturday)
Rafting on most of these dates can be reserved through the Nantahala Outdoor Center or Endless River Adventures.
